Ellen Pompeo finally broke his silence over the pay gap between male and female actors in Hollywood.
During a performance on the latest episode of Call her father Podcast, the 55-year-old actress expressed frustration over the wage difference between her and male Costar Patrick Dempsey in the hit drama Gray’s Anatomy.
The TV personality revealed that Patrick was paid more than she was because he was already a well -known actor when their hit series premiered.
“Back these days – I don’t know if they still do this or not – you had an offer. And with every TV pilot you did, you got your offer,” Ellen said.
“So if you’ve made 13 TV pilots and … Nothing personal for him, but just in general, only a man … can have 13 failed TV pilots and their quote still keeps going up, right?” she added.
Recognizes it Gray’s Anatomy Was her first TV pilot ever, Ellen admitted that “nobody knew who I was at the time.”
“Everyone knew who he was. So he deserved that money. I don’t say he didn’t deserve that money,” she continued.
“I wasn’t salty that he got what he got,” Ellen explained. “I was salty that they did not appreciate me as much as they appreciated him and they will never.”
