Emma Raducanu has talked about her “difficult experience” involving a “fixed” fan on Dubai Tennis Championships This week.
An emotional Raducanu approached the chairman’s judge during the first set of her match against Karolina Muchova on Tuesday night after she saw a fan in the stands that had previously approached her just a day earlier.

Games were stopped and the unidentified man was thrown out.

WTA explained that “a man who exhibited fixed behavior” approached 2021 US Open Champion In a public space Monday. The man was then seen the next day in his match in the first few rows.

In a message to fans on social media, Raducanu opened up the situation.

“Hard experience yesterday, but I want to be okay and proud of how I came back and competed despite what happened at the start of the match,” Raducanu wrote. “Thanks to Karolina for being a great sport and good luck for her the rest of the tournament.”
Raducanu received a five-year detention order against a man in London in 2022 after he was found guilty of pursuing her. The man showed up in her home on several occasions, leaving unwanted gifts. She was 19 at the time.
