- Epson has announced LS9000, an entry level in its pro cinema projector setting
- LS9000 has a specified 2,200 Lumen White (ISO -Classified) and Color (IDMS -Classified) Brightness
- LS9000 has double HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K 120Hz support for games
Epson today announced Epson Pro Cinema LS9000 4K 3LCD LASER PROJECTOR. The new entrance to lower costs in the company’s Pro Cinema Projector lineup will debut this week at the Lidio Counseling Live Show, which takes place 1-3 August 2025 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Price for $ 3,999 (approx. £ 2,995 / AU $ 6.135), EPSON LS9000 provides a more affordable alternative to Epson Pro Cinema LS12000 ($ 5,999), currently the top choice in our best projector’s guide. Like that model, the new LS9000 is a 4K 3LCD model with HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG support. It also uses a laser light source that is classified for 20,000 hours and has a motorized lens with driven zoom, focus and +/- 96% vertical and up to +/- 24% horizontal lens shifts.
With 2,200 lumens of white (ISO -classified) and color (IDMS -classified) brightness, the LS9000 is not as powerful as LS12000, which is classified to 2,700 lumens of white brightness. But like that model, the 4K 120Hz support on its double HDMI 2.1 ports for games (Earc and ARC are also supported).
EPSONS ZX image processor performs interpolating real-time frame and image improvement on the LS9000, which also has a driven lens cover that slides into place when the projector is off. A memory zoom setting allows you to use the projector with ultra-covering 2.35: 1 screens, and it also supports third-party anamorphic lenses for use immediately.
A cheaper pro series? We’ll take it
At CEDIA EXPO 2024, the Epson Epson Q-Series debuted a trio of 4K laser projectors aimed at the high-end housing market. What separates these from other EPSON projectors was Q-Series’ specifications for high brightness that started at 3,300 lumens for QB1000, by up to 10,000 lumens for the flagship EPSON QL7000.
Such a high light output makes the Q series a perfect option for open-formed media rooms or living rooms where a certain degree of ambient lighting is preferred.
With 2,200 lumens of brightness, the new LS9000 is more aimed at traditional dark-room theaters, with the projector’s two-stage dynamic contrast adjustment allowing it to project crisp 4K films with sharp contrast (Epson’s contrasting conditions quotes over 2.5 million for one).
The LS9000S double HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K 120Hz support also makes it a great opportunity for games with the next generation consoles or PCs. And to $ 3,999, Epson’s latest is a more reasonable price games projector than other models in his lineup, and it’s also one that should also do double duty for movies.
