ESPN -Inalysts use stock market slid to analyze Luka Doncic’s acting

An ESPN -Pundit believes the stock market and Luka Doncic are both heading in the wrong direction.

The stock market has taken some hits since President Donald Trump joined – it is now under 40,000 after a tough last few days.

The market’s hit came in the middle of Trump’s tariffs on what he called “Liberation Day.”

But even though he had a change in the landscape to a legitimate playoff competitor, Doncic has not exactly distinguished himself since he came to Los Angeles Lakers.

He shoots 41.5% from the floor since the large trade, which is down approx. 6.5 percentage points from its time in Dallas. He also shoots only 25% from three in his last five games.

Jay Williams is concerned and he used his analysis at Doncic to take a jab on Trump and the stock market.

“Not only did the stock market get a hit with these duty rates, but Luke’s stock got a big hit,” Williams said on Friday’s edition of “Get Up.” “This is an roughly question – if you want to be a responsibility at the defensive end, you have to be productive at the offensive end. His last five matches he has shot less than 50% off the field and he is one of the least effective binders since he has joined Lakers.”

Dalla’s Mavericks quoted defense as one of the main reasons why they traded Doncic away, despite his global superstardom and young age.

Williams made the claim on Friday, before the stock market’s second big dip in the week and the morning after Doncic went 0-for-6 from deep in a 123-116 loss to the Golden State Warriors, whose stock is sky high since he got Jimmy Butler.

Doncic must have seen TV, because later that night he fell 35 points in a 124-108 win against New Orleans Pelicans and knocked four of his 10 shots behind the arch.

Lakers fans would largely take advantage of if both the stock market and Doncic improved. Los Angeles is in third place at the western conference, which would be their best finish on the position since won the NBA title in 2020.
