“Many of us tried to warn the new ESPN management that the day would come when this idiot would pull them into a permanent political controversy, and they could either be subject to it or shoot him,” Olbermann said in response to McAfee’s Monday comments. “That day is today. Four him.”
McAfee dug in during his show.
“Now, Canada, Listen, There have been some things that have been told me from Canadians that I assume I respect because of the passion you have for your country – which I hope you understand that I showed the same to mine,” McAfee explained on the show. “You lived my country.”

“I now understand from Canadians that they have a lot more passion for their country than I could have imagined. A lot of horrible things have been said about me and I understand it,” McAfee continued.
“I didn’t say that Canadians were terrible. I said your country was. You lived us. I said you were terrible. Let’s shake hands and move. I still love Canadians … I hope it gets settled.”
Boos of Canadian fans during US national anthem began in the midst of President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canadian goods. The president paused them in February, but got it to start this week.
