Ethereum co-founder Anthony Di Iorio shared on Thursday that he believes Blockchain was not necessarily intended to be a “competitor to Bitcoin,” but rather “it was meant to be an alternative.”
Di Iorio, who spoke to a quantity in Consensus 2025, shared with the audience about his time during Ethereum’s early days, and noticed at that time that he understood that the project could be a really big movement. “We could feel and feel it was picking up,” Di Iorio said.
DI Iorio was one of the eight co -founders of Ethereum Blockchain, but originally came in cryptocurrency through his advocacy with Bitcoin. He started Bitcoin meetings in Toronto in 2012, and through it met Vitalik Barterin, who came with Ethereum WhitePaper and shared it with his colleagues co-founders.

After walking away from the Ethereum Foundation, Anthony Di Iorio decentralized in 2014, which is best known for creating Jaxx Liberty Crypto Wallet. In 2022, he launched Andiami, a project that blends hardware, tokenomik and game theory to tackle centralization vectors in decentralized networks.
