Starknet, a layer-2 on the top of Ethereum, gets its first application chain that settles on the network.
The Layer-3 app chain, called Nums, is built out of the “SN stack”, an adaptable tool set that lets developers create LAG-3 blockchains based on Starknet’s technology.
Nums itself is an on-chain game that lets players try to sequenced a series of 20 generated songs. Users will be able to earn $ nums tokens by playing the game with tokens issued via Starknet.
Starware, the largest developer company behind Starknet, originally shared in July 2023 that it built the SN stack. The message followed similar releases from several of Starkwares competitors, such as ArbiRum’s Orbit Stack and Optimisms up stack that came out in 2023. Last January, Starkwares SN -Stack went live.
Despite various LAG-2 stacks that are already live and LAG-3 games found on these chains, the team behind Nums claims that their decision to build with Starknet’s technology is because it allows for more “calculation Complex and more ambitious “Applications, Tarrence Van as, CEO of Cartridge, said the largest developer company behind Nums, in an interview with Coindesk.
Starknet, which uses Cairo as a programming language, is “much easier to express these types of applications,” van added as added. (Ethereum uses solidity, another type of programming language, to build its applications. Most LAG-2s also use solidity.)
Patron is one of the core developing teams based on Starknet, known to release its dojo frame, a tool engine that lets developers build games and applications on the network.
