EX-49ers star Matt Breida makes surprising choice to retire from NFL: Report

The NFL, which runs its back, typically has a shorter shelf life than players at other positions due to the physical bombing companies that are often endured.

Turning 30 has sometimes been considered the point that runs the back can begin to fall.

Matt Breida, who turned 30 years earlier in the year, decided to walk away from the NFL just weeks before the regular season is scheduled to start.

Breida last played for New York Giants. He started his pro football career with San Francisco 49ers and returned to Niners in 2024 and spent some of the forecast with the team.

Breida also had Stints with Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills in his seven-year pro football career.

According to ESPN, Breida chose to retire and rejected an invitation to return to South Florida to go through a workout with the dolphins.

Breida did not go out of Georgia Southern University in 2017.

Breida won the Star Roll with Niners in 2018. He ended the season with a career high 814 rushing yards. In his two seasons with Giants, Breida appeared in 34 matches.

Breida ends his NFL career with 2,652 overall dangerous yards. He also scored 19 rushing touchdowns.

Dallas Cowboys visits the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles September 4 to open the 2025 season.
