“Every time you hit a Homer in the big leagues, it’s pretty special. But being able to do it first bats back here was a pretty cool moment I will never forget,” Bregman said.

Bregman’s home driving was historic. He became the first MLB player in more than six decades to hit a Homer in their first career record look on the road to a club they won at least two World Series titles. Duke Snider is the last player on a record to achieve the brag when he got into a game against Los Angeles Dodgers in 1963.

As Bregman drove towards the home plate for his second bat, many of the fans sang another tune. Bregman suggested that Boos was expected and generally good -natured.

“I loved it,” he said. “I hoped they would do it.”

Bregman added a base hit to go 2-for-4 at night.

Astros also honored Bregman with a video tribute that highlighted some of the special moments he had during his time in the team’s uniform. Astros faithful gave Bregman a standing ovation when the video ended. Bregman said he enjoyed the moment.

“Really cool. Great moment,” Bregman said. “Just tried to suck it all in. AC [manager Alex Cora] told me to enjoy it and I tried really to do it. “

Astros ultimately mounted a comeback to take the first game of the three-game series. Red Sox went into Tuesday’s match with 65 wins, while Astros had 67 games in the victory column.
