Former New York Yankees player and world champion Mark Teixeira launched his campaign for the US Representative House on Thursday and angry liberals.
While many of Teixeria’s long-standing fans supported the former MLB All-Star for taking a shot in the public office, his admission to being a “lifelong conservative” and his campaign principles met with indignation from certain people on the left.
“Since I was [six] Years old I’ve had a poster of Mark Teixeira in my room, spent hundreds of dollars on his jerseys and baseball cards. Really my favorite Yankee, who grows up, sucks that he is a maga freak now, ”wrote a user on X.

Another X user wrote, “Mark Teixeira, a Maga Pos, doesn’t surprise me a bit.”
A user even went so far as to call Teixeira a “bad person” in response to his race as a Republican.
“Didn’t know that Mark Teixeira was a bad person, but here we are,” it wrote that user.
Still, most of the discourse of Teixeira’s race on X was positive, with many conservatives expressing excitement over the influence he would bring to the congress base ball match that GOP has won over the past five years.
Meanwhile, on Bluesky, which is an X -competitor, often used by liberals, the criticism of Teixeira’s message was violent.
“This spores. You are considered a star in baseball if you are successful with 30% of the time on bats. Should be a perfect candidate for Republican voters who crave even more mediocrity that masks themselves as greatness,” wrote a Bluesky user.
“Mark Teixeira: Waste Person,” another wrote.
Meanwhile, another Bluesky uses a phrase that many on the left have often criticized when applied to athletes who speak in support of liberal reasons.
“Never thought I would hear myself say that, but just this time, stick to sports,” a user wrote.

Teixeira runs for Texas ’21. Congress District in the American House. His message follows rep. Chip Roy’s decision not to apply for re -election as he runs to the Texas Attorney General Office.
Teixeira released an official statement on social media and said he is “ready to help defend President Trump’s America First Agenda, Texas families and individual freedom.”
“As a proud Texan and lifelong conservative who loves our country, I’m ready to fight for the principles that make Texas strong and America unusual,” the statement reads. “It takes teamwork to win, and I’m ready to help defend President Trump’s America First Agenda, Texas families and individual freedom.”
In his message, Teixeira Roy praised for having represented the district “With unshakable courage.”
“I run to make sure District 21 remains wealthy and free in the coming generations,” he added.
Teixeira, 45, played 14 seasons in the main subjects. He debuted with Texas Rangers In 2003 and continued to play for Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Angels and especially New York Yankees.

Teixeira was a three-time winner of the Silver Slugger Award and completed his career with a .269 batting average and 409 home runs. He was a five-time Gold Glove winner and was a member of Yankees’ World Series Championship Team from 2009.
The race is set for November 2026 with a primary scheduled for March.
