Ex-NBA star Shawn Kemp avoids trial, inconsistently included in shopping malls

Shawn Kemp, who spent the majority of his NBA career with Seattle Supersonics, entered into a guilty plea in the 2023 shooting outside Tacoma Mall in State Washington.

The Pierce County prosecutor’s office confirmed that Kemp admitted assaults in the second degree in the incident. The six-time NBA All-Star originally indicted charges of first-time attacks with a firearm. Prosecutors later went on another count of first-time assault and a charge of drive-by-shooting.
