The New York Jets Great Nick Mangold expressed his dissatisfaction with a New Jersey city on Saturday when it refused to fly the American flag to half staff in honor of Charlie Kirk.
Madison was among the cities of the state to ignore President Donald Trump’s proclamation that all US flags on government buildings should be winged to half staff until Sunday. The order was made to honor the conservative influencer who was murdered during an event at Utah Valley University.

But when Mangold was running at a government building in the city, he noticed that the flag was still waving at the top of the rod.
“I’m disgusted and saddened by my city (Madison) and my State (New Jersey),” he wrote at X. “This is wrong on so many levels … as an American man and father were murdered to express his right to free expression.”
Mangold labeled New Jersey -Governor Phil Murphy and the two Gubernatorial candidates who are struggling to succeed Murphy, state representative Mikie Sherrill and Jack Ciattarelli.

Officials of Bergen County, New Jersey, also came under fire to keep his flags with full staff, but explained why in a post on Facebook.
“Today we received questions about lowering the American flag at county -owned facilities,” the county said on Saturday. “Bergen County policy is to follow the state of New Jersey’s Daily Flag -Status, which can be found here. Today’s status was ‘Full staff.'”
Kirk was shot and killed when he spoke with students at the University of Orem, Utah. He is survived by his wife and two children.
Tyler Robinson was arrested in the shooting after officials launched a manhunt for more than a day.
