Trey Wingo, a former ESPN staple at “Sports Center” and “NFL LIVE”, seemed to complain the direction of his former employer earlier this week in a post on social media.

Wingo replied to another user on X who wrote: “Children today are not aware of it, but you used to be able to turn on ESPN and not see Stephen A. Smith or Pat McAfee. They were wonderful times ….”

“Let me preface this by saying that I have so many wonderful memories and so many good friends who are still working there that I want to be successful … but he is right,” Wingo wrote on Tuesday at X.

“It used to be a wonderful buffet where you could choose and choose what you wanted. Now it’s like a banquet dinner: chicken or fish?”

Smith has been a figure head of ESPN for years, and his popularity has only grown since he began to “first take” with Skip Baysless, Max Kellerman, Shannon Sharpe and others. He appeared on NBA coverage and has his own podcast separated from ESPN.

McAfee came into ESPN as one of the most popular podcasters in sports. The former Indianapolis Colts -Punter has been celebrating with ESPN ex -executers since joining the company. But with his Q score improved, McAfee has been seen on “College Gameday” and on WWE broadcasts.

“Sports Center” is still a major part of ESPN programming in the morning and evening. However, the program setup is such that it is not on the morning anymore.
