Is this the droid you’ve been looking for? If you’ve been after a pint-size load-bearing droid that you can follow around, Lucasfilm’s latest collaboration with Piaggio Fast Forward can just be the one you’ve been looking for.
Meet G1T4-M1N1, a special edition of Piaggios GitaMini Robot that clings with the off-the-shelf pale yellow-mocky a lime-green hull of a droid and throws into custom labels that gives it the appearance of an astromech. You will find long arms like those from R2-D2 to the left and right, different gray forms that give it a shell and sensors galore around.
Plus, via the built-in speaker, Piaggio worked with Lucasfilm to design custom droid sounds, so yes, various beeps and boops as well as a custom lighting package ending the Star Wars edition.
Apart from that, it’s actually the classic Gita Mini with a front sensor stack with two cameras that act as a pair and a secondary CMOS camera. These all work with AI models on a device to help G1T4-M1N1 recognize and lock on you so it can follow you and avoid obstacles.

It also has two main wheels, and the actual hull of the robotic balance between them when it slides so effortlessly. I tested it at Techradar’s office in New York City, which was mostly smooth. How well would it work on the sandy surface of Tatooine or the icy surface of Hoth? Your guess is as good as mine, but I have the feeling that the G1T4-M1N1 will ask you that you will never tell the odds.
Piaggio says it’s 6 km / h. Seriously, however, G1T4-M1N1 packs a stamp, and it is rather compact, measuring just under 19 inches in height.
This robot is not just about good droid -looking. It has a purpose. I hid Sabine Wren’s light saber away in the cargo tray, which opens pretty lightly from the top. It also locks via the app so precious load can be stored securely. It can hold up to a 20-pound payload so it could contain a lot of cutting, which is a win.
It is a cute robot, the result of a collaboration between Piaggio and Lucasfilm that happened quite naturally. In a speech with Techradar, Greg Lynn, CEO of Piaggio, quickly told me quickly, “When we first met with Disney on Campus and went in with a Gita Mini and a Gita Plus Robot, it was also one of the best experiences where people ran out of the office building and said, ‘They are here!'”
Feel the strength
It was clear that Piaggio Fast Forward Team was Star Wars fans, and the team on Luca’s movie and Star Wars was as you would expect fans of real robots and droids. Lynn shared that it was a major partnership that worked together to ‘develop all kinds of adjustments and features’ to make a special robot formed as G1T4-M1N1.
The Lynn and the team from Piaggio reviewed the archives of Lucas films in search of some early astro-Mech droids. The Gita Mini already had sensors, and so did Astro-Mechs, so it was a pretty perfect couple. You will experience custom sounds at different points when using the G1T4-M1N1, including when you start walking and suddenly stop, or change your speed quickly.
Lynn shared its enthusiasm for this launch and if you are already sold, the G1T4-M1N1 is available for order now from the Disney store for $ 2,875. You also get the Star Wars edition of Droid and Special Packaging. It is also not a limited version, so you have to be able to find one of these for a good bit.
The droid you’re looking for
The launch also comes ahead of May 4, 2025, also known as Star Wars Day, and this is one of the coolest, albeit more expensive, products for debut. And if you are after some other things-maybe a new LEGO set or a piece of the epic, frosty, heh collection can you wear it in the G1T4-M1N1.
Now, if you want to see the G1T4-M1N1 in action before buying or just want to try it, the Disney store at Times Square, New York City, will have more of these out and around this weekend-based a fun way to celebrate Star Wars Day.
