At least five people were killed and five other seriously injured after a gas cylinder explosion caused a fire in a store in Laore’s Ravi Road area, officials said.
Rescue sources confirmed that the fire broke out when a cylinder exploded inside the store reported Express News.
Emergency Services rushed to the stage, turned off the flames and moved the deceased and wounded to a nearby hospital.
It is reported that the wounded are in critical condition.
After the incident, Lahore expressed you operations regrets about the loss of life and ordered an immediate sweeping of the area using relevant departments.
He instructed law enforcement to remain in high alarm and called for strict surveillance across all urban zones.
Officials also ordered immediate shutdown of all illegal LPG sales points operating nearby.
Studies of the cause and possible negligence are ongoing.
