In the midst of rising tensions with India, a prominent political leader Faisal Vawda has called on the national unity and the revival of the National Action Plan (NAP) as a unified reaction to what is described as “false propaganda” derived from New Delhi.

When he spoke in response to the recent development from the entire border, Vawda emphasized that national solidarity must come ahead of everything else, saying, “Pakistan comes first – everything else follows. We are united.”

He called on the government to convene a formal consultation on the national action plan involving leadership from all political parties, including Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) to send a strong and unified message to the international community.

“This will demonstrate for the world that Pakistan no longer operates on political appropriatives and that the entire nation and its society are firmly behind the armed forces and in spite of any external threats,” the official said.

Warning against any hostile acts based on incorrect information warned the statement of India that any trait rooted in “lies and deception” would be met with a strong and potentially dangerous reaction, as has been the case in the past.

His statement comes as India has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan in the wake of a deadly attack in Pahaldam, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), who killed 26 tourists and wounded 17 others.

The attack, as police said, wounded another 17 people took place in Pahagam – a tourist hotspot that draws thousands of visitors every summer.

At least 26 people were killed, all men when guns opened fire against visitors at a popular destination, AFP reported, referring to a hospital list of the dead verified by police. It was the region’s deadliest attack on civilians since 2000.
