Faisalabad Motorway Bang-Rape Case Suspected Arrested

The Punjab police have arrested the most important suspect in the alleged gang rape of a woman near the Faisalabad motorway, police said Friday.

The suspect identified as Ali Sher was arrested within hours of the incident, according to police.

According to the first Information Report (FIR), the incident on March 25, 2025 in Chak No. 62 JB Channan found when armed men captured a couple traveling on a motorcycle. A case was recorded during robbery and charges of sexual abuse.

The assailants allegedly robbed the victims before sexually assaulting the woman in front of her husband.

Police have conducted a medical examination, collected DNA samples and completed Pakinomist-fences on the crime scene.

After the arrest, CM Maryam Nawaz expressed his gratitude to the police force and thanked God for the timely arrest. She personally monitored the operation and made sure that all the necessary steps were taken to understand the suspect. The Minister of the Ministry also issued instructions for the immediate arrest of two accomplices involved in the crime.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of strict lawsuits against the perpetrators and said those responsible for such horrific crimes must be of severe punishment.

She further repeated her commitment to securing the safety of women and children and declared that incidents with sexual abuse would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Maryam Nawaz expressed his concern about the increasing number of such events and highlighted the need for stronger measures to prevent them.

She assured the public that her government would take all the necessary steps to protect women and children from violence.

The latest incident is in the midst of ongoing discussions in Pakistan on the implementation of harsher penalties for sexual violations after previously high -profile cases.

Earlier, in September 2020, a mother of two allegedly became gang-raped by two robbers on the highway in an area under Gujjarpura police jurisdiction.
