A fan has discovered what appears to be the early model for the protagonist of Rockstar Games’ canceled project, Agent.
In 2023, the source code was created GTA 5 was leaked, leading to all sorts of discoveries over the years, but this week a fan shared a new discovery that sheds light on Rockstar’s PS3 spy game Agentwhich never saw the light of day.
User XanaBax shared their results on GTA Forum (thanks, Kotaku), which included assets and character models for an unknown character, suggesting that one in particular was the protagonist of Agent.

XanaBax explained that three of the four models were off GTA V and was not related to Agentbut conjectures that the fourth, which shows a man in army garb, was not one GTA 5 active.
The dataminer claims that the model was buried in a folder titled ‘Jimmy’, which was said to be the codename for Agent and was also under the hierarchy labeled ‘Player’, suggesting that this character was the main playable character.
The file name also included the mention of “NorthRig”, which could be Rockstar North, the studio that originally developed the game.

What’s more, the character seems to be a remix of sorts Grand Theft Auto 4is Niko Bellic. XanaBax explained that “some parts of the model are taken from/edited versions of Niko Bellic” and the main model “has more or less the same UV map (excluding the hairline).”
The boots in the picture are Nikos boots and the camo pants are an edited version of Nikos.
The model has never been used GTA 5 or GTA onlineand XanaBax claims it has a 2009 date attached which would be two years after Agent was first mentioned by Rockstar.
“Agent takes players on a paranoid journey into a world of counterintelligence, espionage and political assassination during the height of the Cold War in the late 1970s,” Rockstar teased at the time.
The project was first teased at E3 2007 in collaboration with Sony, but was officially announced at E3 2009. The game was due for release in 2010, but after a long period of radio silence, the trademark finally expired, and in 2021, Agent‘s official website was removed.
A former Rockstar developer shared both Agent and GTA 5 were developed simultaneously, but more resources and people were eventually moved to GTA 5leading to the apparent cancellation of the agent.
