Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry stated that the establishment has failed to solve the issue of Balochistan and now had to hand it over to political forces.

In a speech with the media at Lahore High Court (LHC), Fawad Chaudhry highlighted that the ongoing crisis in Balochistan is one of the country’s biggest tragedy where 120 people are still missing. He emphasized that Balochistan is not part of any political party and has been under control of the establishment for a long period of time.

Chaudhry also suggested that the company want to waive control of the Balochistan question and return it to political parties.

He also called on President Asif Ali Zardari to convene an all-party conference, which ensured the participation of PTI founder Imran Khan, where he said the conference could not be successful without his involvement.

“Balochistan is not under any political party’s control – it has been in the hands of establishment for a long time. Since they have not been able to solve its problems, it is time to return to political leadership, ”he said.

Chaudhry urged President Asif Ali Zardari to convene an All-Party Conference to tackle the Balochistan crisis.

He emphasized that Pakistan’s leading opposition figure must be allowed to participate and said, “Without the opposition leader, such a conference will be meaningless.”

He also called on great political leaders – including Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, Zardari and the opposition leader – to get together and take a shared responsibility for solving Balochistan’s questions.

“The whole nation must unite. If we are not acting now, the situation could spiral out of control, ”he warned.

Meanwhile, Chaudhry appeared in court during cases attached to the 9th of May riots. A two-member bench of Lahore High Court heard petitions about four separate cases filed against him in Faisalabad.

His lawyers claimed he had not been provided with copies of the charges or supplementary evidence that they claimed was a violation of the legal procedure.

The Court issued messages to all parties and ordered the trial to submit items before March 20.
