Lahore:
Jui-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has rejected US President Donald Trump’s 20-point Gaza Peace Plan and claims that there is no acceptable peace plan if proposed without consulting Palestinians and Hamas.
“The United States sidelined Hamas in negotiations. Hamas is a primary party to the dispute. The Palestinian question cannot be resolved without it,” Fazl said on Tuesday while talking to the media in Lahore. “Removal of Hamas from conversations makes a sustainable solution impossible,” he said.
President Trump on Monday secured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s support for a US-sponsored peace proposal to end a nearly two-year-old genocide in Gaza.
When he spoke with reference to the plan, Fazl said that a two-state solution that is effectively recognizing Israel would be unacceptable unless Palestinians and Hamas are included in the event.
He emphasized that until Palestinians themselves decide the future of Palestine, no solution should be imposed on them; A two-state solution cannot be forced on the Palestinian people.
He said that the United States – and especially Trump – has pushed his will around the world with power, which is neither moral nor political law. When he commented on the idea that Trump could receive a Nobel Peace Prize, he said it was only possible if there was a category of the “Nobel War Award.”
With reference to the core executives’ conference, chairman of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on October 17, he asked listeners to compare what was said there with Prime Minister Shahbaz’s statement in New York.
He also criticized differences between Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s address to the UN General Assembly and his subsequent tweet and said that such weak positions would leave the Arab world defeated. He said no one in Pakistan could even consider recognizing Israel.
He said the recent Pakistan -Saudi defense collaboration alone could not solve the Palestinian problem. He also suggested that India’s interests affect some governments, which involves a fear of the United States tilting against India.
The Jui-F chief said the current government’s ability to end its period depended on the establishment. “If their relationship remains good, the term will be completed, otherwise it will not,” he said, adding that former Prime Minister Imran Khan must be released.
Fazl said Israel is an illegitimate state and will never be accepted.
