- Resident Evil Requiem Manufacturer Masato Kumazawa says newcomers in the series and long -lasting fans will enjoy the game
- Kumazawa says newcomers can play the game as any horror game and “enjoy it 100%” while those looking for Lore connections will “enjoy it 150%”
- He adds, “I don’t want people to feel that they have to do their homework to fully appreciate this game”
Resident Evil Requiem Producer Masato Kumazawa has said that newcomers will be able to enjoy the game without having any prior knowledge of the series, but hints that will be some fun things to uncover to Lore lovers.
In a new interview with VGC, together with director Koshi Nakanishi, Kumazawa discussed a game that is both available to players who have never touched a Resident Evil Play before and long -lasting fans.
He explained that the game, although still available as a regular horror game for newcomers, still want the lore connections as they in Resident Evil Community Love, even to go so far as to say that long -lasting fans will “enjoy it 150%”.
“We think it’s important to balance the extra fun you get from nostalgic Easter eggs and tips and lore connections if you are a series fan, not to make a game that is alienated to players who are not caught. I don’t want people to feel that they have to do their homework to fully appreciate this game,” Kumazawa said.
“So while we don’t really go into exactly how much and what you want to see of Raccoon City throughout the full game, I think if you don’t know anything about it, just play this as a horror game in a broken city and you will be able to understand and enjoy it 100%.
“If you are a fan and you see all the connections and lore links and background hints and things, I think you will enjoy it 150%and it will give you the extra detailed level, but we will not do so, so you need to know about the incident and understand the relationship between the timeline to understand the game.”
Last month, Director Koshi Nakanishi explained why Resident Evil Requiem Offers both a third -person and first -person state and says Resident Evil 7 May have been “too scary” for some players, so a third -person opportunity was added to Requiem partly for this reason.
Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled for launch on February 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.
