The Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Education has placed an order of 8,000 Chromebooks for its public educational institutions, reported Express News.

The order follows an online tendering process facilitated by the National Book Foundation, in which representatives from 11 companies participated.

Ten companies submitted financial bids and the contract was awarded the company, which offers the lowest price.

Chromebooks are expected to be delivered within two months of strict quality control measures in place to secure the standards of the products delivered.

This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to improve the quality of education in public schools by introducing digital learning tools.

Previously, the Federal Directorate of Education in Islamabad had announced changes in the operating time of educational institutions in the federal capital of the winter season.

According to the announcement, schools operated on Fridays from 8:30 to 12:30.

Morning change institutions opened at 1 p.m. 8:30 pm and closed at. 13:30. Schools in the evening change were open from 1 p.m. 13:30 to 18:00.

These adjusted timings aimed to accommodate the shorter daylight during the winter season, ensuring a more effective schedule for both students and faculty.
