Lahore:
Three years in – and now into their second consecutive period – federal ministers show no evidence of letting up their attacks against Embatted PTI founder Imran Khan and holding him square responsible for the economic and security cattle mirals that Pakistan has had to wade through under his rule.
As Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf’s sustained popularity continues to get under the skin of the PML-N-LED government, two senior federal ministers defense minister Khawaja Asif and Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal contexts in their hometown used to keep Imran Khan on their cross.
The PML-N leaders accused the prisoner leader of being responsible for most of the diseases confronting Pakistan while announcing that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led Central Government has finally managed to turn things around the country.
Despite the endless criticism, the defense minister said in the same breath that there was no need to abuse PTI as its leaders already went against each other and claimed that the former reigning party has divided into many factions.
Khawaja Asif, while approaching a quantity in Sialkot, said that Imran Khan was and forever will be a picky and a self -absorbed individual. He noted that Imran had refused to sit with opposition parties when he was in power, even when there was fear of an attack from India.
But now in prison, he has asked his party not to sit with the government on security issues if he was not invited to the meeting. “Imagine the contradiction,” he added.
He congratulated the Shehbaz-led government for giving a historical concession of 16 percent in electricity stars and did not call it a small achievement. He said that every time Nawaz Sharif, his brother or his daughter is in power, the days of economic progression begin.
He announced a new motorway from Sialkot to Kharian, adding that a new lane was constructed on the existing highway.
While recognizing the deteriorating security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, he paid tribute to the tribute to soldiers for putting their lives for the motherland. He said the government was not against any specific group or individual, but anyone who was against the population of the country had to pay the price.
Ahsan Iqbal, who approached a quantity in Zafarwal, said that a particular judge and the then generals had brought Imran Khan – a total novice – to power. He said this amateur while in the driving seat did what amateurs do: ended up having an accident.
He added that the man who got the keys to the country had not even run a trade union council throughout his life.
He said Imran Khan had brought the country to the brink of bankruptcy. Instead of shoulders to blame for his failures, he accused his opponents.
Iqbal said that if the then opposition alliance was not sent Imran Khan home via a vote without confidence on April 11, 2022, Pakistan would have defaulted. Had it happened, he said, assets would have been taken over, creditors would have questioned the country’s missile connection functions and the conditions would have been imposed that would have provided security.
He added that if PML-N had wanted to save his policy, it would have gone to early elections shortly after removing the PTI government, but instead they chose the difficult route to resolve the economy as the country could not have provided decision-making restrictions for a temporary setup.
