Indiana Fever Guard Sophie Cunningham asked her mother to delete a post on social media that smashed Connecticut Sun Guard Bria Hartley as a “dissatisfied player” after Cunningham suffered a season -ending knee injury during Sunday’s match.
The fever announced on Tuesday that Cunningham would miss the rest of the season after she suffered a right knee injury as Hartley fell in her leg in the second quarter of Indiana’s 99-93 overtime gains over The sun.

“Hartley is a dissatisfied player who has problems everywhere she goes; she is ordinary and plays out of control.”
But Cunningham revealed in his podcast, “Show me something,” That she asked her mother to delete the post and add that she and Hartley are good friends.
“There was no bad intention. I think it was a basketball game. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time; she fell,” Cunningham said. “There is no way she would go in there and intentionally try to hurt me. I have nothing but love for Bria, and I even told my mom because she tweeted something I was like, ‘no, mom! I get it, but I promise you that Bria and I’m super cool and she would never try to hurt me.’

Cunningham continued, “There are some girls that I think maybe, but she wouldn’t do it. I have nothing but love and I hope people stop giving Bria a little warm because I don’t think she meant to do it at all.”
Cunningham also confirmed in her podcast that she was suffering an MCL tower and will undergo an operation in the coming days.
“I teared my MCL and if you want to hurt your knee, that’s the best possible case.”

The fever has been filled with injuries this season and lost star protection Caitlin Clark for the majority of the regular season. The guards Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald were also sidelined earlier this month with a torn ACL and a broken footbone respectively.
“This year, just as a whole-thror I launch as a whole, but really us-we just went through so much adversity and harm it has just been-as you can’t do this to — up,” Cunningham said.
