‘FIA -Employees fired over mismatch’

Prime Minister of the Domestic Talal Chaudhary informed Thursday that 51 Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials had been dismissed in the last two years for different types of mismatches.

When he spoke during the question time, the minister said the FIA ​​has an effective internal responsibility system to take disciplinary action against his staff involved in wrongdoing.

He expressed satisfaction with the performance of National Cyber ​​Crime Investigation Authority (NCCIA), especially by tackling cybercrime across the country.

He told Parliament that a general director had been appointed to lead NCCIA and that about 500 employees are currently working in the authority. A proposal has also been submitted to hire additional staff to improve its capacity.

Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) moderrorism wing in Islamabad has intensified its crash on an international gang involved in issuing fake Pakistani CNICs, machine-readable passports and Saudi Arabia work visa to Afghan citizens and other foreigners.

The agency, which acts after intelligence reports, has arrested three more suspects attached to the network, bringing the total number of arrests to five.

According to officials, the latest arrests – under attacks carried out in the last 24 hours – including Muhammad Alam Zeb, Asif Khan and Haroon Rashid.

Studies have revealed that Zeb relieved Saudi work visa for 31 Afghan citizens using Pakistani passports. Asif Khan reportedly arranged similar visas for four Afghan citizens, while Haroon Rashid activated the issue of Saudi visas for 58 Afghans.

On Tuesday, two other suspects – Muhammad Ishaq Khan and Syed Ahsan Shah – were arrested. Shah is accused of helping 580 Afghan citizens to secure Saudi work visas with counterfeit Pakistani documentation, while Ishaq Khan allegedly helped 22 individuals.

Together, the five suspects are believed to have facilitated a total of 693 Afghan citizens to get Saudi work visa using fake Pakistani CNics and passports.

Authorities noted that officials’ involvement from the immigration and passport office and the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) in Fidus will be determined during investigation.

Additional attacks are performed to understand other members of the network.
