Field Marshal Munir receives guard of honor at GHQ as Pakistan’s first CDF

A guard of honor ceremony was held at the Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to honor the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military), Hilal-e-Jurat, on his appointment as Pakistan’s first Chief of Defense Staff.

During the ceremony, contingents from the three armed forces presented the COAS and the newly appointed Chief of Defense Forces with a formal guard of honour. Field Marshal Munir was also presented with a general salute and inspected the guard of honour, the state broadcaster reported.

The event was attended by senior military officers including Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff of Pakistan Air Force Zaheer Ahmad Babar who felicitated the newly appointed Defense Chief.
