Karachi: The International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) has lifted the suspension of the Pakistan Football Federation after the PFF Congress approved constitutional changes mandated by the football management body and the Asian football Confederation (AFC) confirmed officials on Sunday.

“On March 2, 2025, the Bureau of the FIFA Council decided to lift the suspension imposed on PFF on February 6, 2025,” the Football-Generate Body said in a statement.

It added that the decision was made after the PFF Congress unanimously approved the version of the PFF’s Constitution validated by FIFA and AFC, which met the claim created by the agency in its decision on February 6.

Shahid Khokhar, a member of the PFF -Normalization Committee, confirmed to Pakinomist News This Pakistan’s suspension has been abolished, making the country entitled to resume international football activities.

“The suspension has been abolished after the successful result of PFF -Extraordinary Congress on February 27,” Khokhar said. “We thank FIFA and AFC for their continued support from Pakistan football and expand our heartfelt congratulations to Pakistan -Football Society.”

With the suspension lifted, all PFF’s membership rights, as defined in FIFA statutes, are reinstated. This allows PFF representative and club team to participate in international competitions again.

FIFA had suspended last month after PFF Congress members initially refused to accept the constitutional changes that were considered necessary to ensure a transparent election process. However, during a follow -up meeting on February 27, Congress approved the changes.

The lifting of the suspension paves the way for Pakistan’s participation in the AFC Asian Cup qualifications. PFF had previously announced that it was unable to participate due to the suspension. Now, with the ceased ban, PFF will arrange quick events for its upcoming match against Syria, planning to take place later this month.
