- Details of AirPods Pro 3 Case Design allegedly leakage
- Accessory manufacturers say it will have a touch button for pairing/reset
- I think it’s a shame but probably when AirPods 4 changed that switch
We expect that the highly expected AirPods Pro 3 will soon be revealed at the Apple event on September 9, 2025, which will certainly also be the debut of the iPhone 17-so what has been surprising is how few leaks have been about the new earplugs.
Despite Apple’s famous secrecy, virtually all of its products are delicious on some way-but-but-mute Airpods Pro 3 have largely stayed in the shadows outside of several claims that they want built-in heart sensors.
However, we can finally have a leak that relates to the design of the earplugs, thanks to Majinbu official. The publication spoke to accessory manufacturers who provided pictures and said that the case for the new AirPods may be slightly smaller than the case for AirPods Pro 2 (although the dimensions given to the case in the picture below suggests a very Similar size as the current case).
They said the case will still include the Lanyard Loop you find on the current AirPods Pro 2 case, too.
But they also highlighted another change they expect: Removing the button from the back of the case in favor of a touch panel on the front, and I’m not a fan of this idea.
It seems to be inevitable – last year’s AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation both did this switch, so it’s not surprising that Apple would do this – but I think the physical button is important.
The AirPods button is used to put them in mating mode with units that are not appliances or to reset them if they have big problems and that is the second point, which means I want Apple to hold a physical button instead of an invisible touch panel.
If your AirPods do not respond for any reason, you can press the physical button on the back until they reset and know that there is a good chance that this will solve them. The most important thing is that you know that you are doing the process correctly because you can tell you that you have the depressed button – you feel the movement.
If you need to reset non -reacting airpods using a touch panel and nothing seems to happen, you’re back with uncertainty. Have you squeezed the wrong place or do they just fail to reset?
In the design of user experience there is a concept called ‘advice’. These are the ways that a product or piece of software indicates for you, that something can be done or something is happening.
A physical button is a natural disposal; You know it can be pressed when you see it and you can feel when you have pressed it. The Touch button on AirPods can use lights or sounds as a disposal to say that you have pressed it, but it depends on the electronics that all react as expected – and if you have come to the point where you need to reset them, it may not be the case. I think something as important as a reset should have physical control, but I’m old -fashioned that way.
In any case, it still doesn’t tell us much about AirPods Pro 3 overall. I expect improved sound quality, improved active noise cancellation, a new H3 chip that drives them, a kind of smart smart features tied to that chip and probably a higher price considering the wider prices in the industry in the last few years. They will probably also be the best airpods released to date.
We probably find out just a few weeks in both ways. I’m sure you’re looking for a button won’t be top of your priority list, but hey – at least it’s more confirmation that they are probably coming soon.
