The fan pressure continues to amount to Amazon and Sony images after The time wheel was axed at the end of May.
Before the High Fantasy Show was canceled after three seasons, its devoted fanbase had called on the series’ production studies to not only renew The time wheel in a fourth season, but also make sure its full story was told. These calls got hot on the heels of The time wheel‘s role crew that tells me that they were “confident” over its renewal of season 4. Unfortunately for everyone involved, Amazon TV original became can shortly after.
However, Prime Video Show’s loyal audience has refused to throw the towel in. In the weeks since the cancellation, a ‘Save the Wheel of Time’ Fan campaign was arranged after viewers decided to channel their frustration to something more positive. This creature, tireless fan pressure to force a U-turn over the show’s premature end.
The first three weeks of the campaign have also been productive. At the time of publication, an online petition was signed of over 174, 600 people. Almost $ 33,000 has also been raised through the campaign’s Gofundme-Side donations, which have enabled organizers to buy a billboard on Times Square, New York in early June to promote the fan-led movement.
Things don’t stop there either. Over the next few days (June 18 to June 20), digital and static advertising boards in New York, Los Angeles, London and Sao Paulo show messages from the fan-led initiative. That does not deny that The time wheelLegion of fans does everything they can to convince Studio leaders that it was scrapped before its time.
Few other fan campaigns have been so sustained in their quest to achieve their goals. In fact, there are only two who immediately come to mind. The first is the online campaign that led to the possible release of Zack Snyder’s Justice Leaguealias the director’s original clip of his last superhero movie, at Max in mid -2022. The other is the upcoming continuation of Warrior Nun‘s story – albeit of a Warrior Nun Film trilogy that has not arrived yet-after the Netflix show’s cancellation after two seasons in August 2023. There is then a precedent for long-standing fan campaigns to achieve their goals.
However, the problem that ‘saves the wheel of time’ is twice: one, will organizers have patience, resources and energy to maintain this level of concerted pressure? And two, will Amazon and Sony actually listen?
If one of the best prime video shows is to return from the dead, it needs the answers to both of these questions to be a resounding “yes”. Otherwise the third season of the series, as I noticed in my The time wheel Season 3 Review, is the best post of the series, marks the end of the way for this magic fan campaign.
