A major fire that broke out early Wednesday in Millennium Mall on Rashid Minhas Road in Karachi, was brought under control after more than four hours, officials said.
The fire started on the roof of the building and spread to the fourth and third floor, as house pictures in the house, according to Chief four officer Humayun Khan. He said the operation was facing delays due to a lack of water.
A total of eleven fire engines and two snorkels were involved in the fire fighting effort. Flames were also reported on the second and first floors, though with less intensity.
Rescue officials confirmed that the roof and the third floor sustained considerable damage and affected both shops and offices.
Residents of a nearby residential building were surely evacuated and no damage was reported. The housing complex remained unkind, officials added.
The fire was fully contained after about four and a half hours.
