- Studios from the 20th century has released the first trailer to Predator: Badlands
- Sci-fi action-franchises next movie hides some big secrets in plain sight
- Its teaser contains one Independence Day Easter eggs and strong ties to Alien Franchise
Nearly 20 years have gone since the last Alien vs Predator (Avp) Movies landed in theaters.
But based on the first trailer for Predator: Badlands, another rate in the very malignant crossover film franchise and a post that could redeem the movie series in many people’s eyes to start here before anyone.
It’s because BadlandsOne of this year’s new films arriving on November 7 is dropping some non-Sub-Subtile tips that it is a Avp movies in all except name. Oh and there is also an unexpected reference to another sci-fi film franchise indicating that it may exist in the same universe as Alien and Predators Film series.
But enough waffle! Clock Badlands‘First teaser below and see if you can see the aforementioned clues before I explain everyone.
Look at
As you have noticed there is a very clear reference to Alien Film in Badlands‘First-Look recordings via Elle Fanning’s character, called Thia.
For those who may have missed it, however, the 0:25 -mark rolls, Thia’s eyes back in her head to reveal a narrative character that is not human, but an Android.
Thia is also no common Robothhumanoid-like * Ahem * eagle-eyed viewers noted that a logo embossed on the back of her eyes, indicating that she was created by Weylan-Yutani Corporation. It is the creepy fictional megacorporation found in Alien Franchise that prioritizes profits and experimentation on dangerous foreign life forms over the lives of his employees.
It’s not the only reference to Weyland-Yutani in Badlands‘Teaser. It’s hard to find out, but at the 0: 50 mark, a smashed, orange-colored truck can be seen on the right side of the screen-and it is decorated with the Weyland-Yutani logo as well.
Oh, and before I forget: Roll back to the start of the teaser and in the middle of the other skulls hung on the wall of what is probably the predator’s residence, looks closely at the skull sitting in the middle of the collection. Do you look familiar? It is because it is the skull for one of the foreigners in Independence Day Film franchise.
Neat, eh? Although it is now raising the question of whether these films are also found in the same universe and Alien and Predators Movie …
Why predators: Badlands could secretly be the third post in the alien vs predator film series
Of course, these Weyland-Yutani Easter eggs could not be anything but simple reminders that Xenomorph’s (alien foreigners) and Yautja (the actual name of the predator species) are found in the same universe. However, it would not be cooler if at some point at one point Badlands performing a narrative bait and switch and becomes a Avp film?
Awful though the two previous Avp Film is, I hope so – and it’s down to the people who have revived Alien and Predators Series, two Stalwart movie franchise from the 80s and 90s.
Dan Trachtenburg who leads Badlandsis also the filmmaker behind the 2022s Predators Prequel movie Exchange. The flick that is available on Hulu (USA) and Disney+ (internationally) is a movie I labeled as “the best Predators Film since 1987 Original ”in my Exchange Examination.
With Trachtenburg also about instructing tasks for BadlandsI am convinced that he delivers back-to-back brilliant records as part of his wider Predators Franchise restart. Really, Exchange and Badlands Nevertheless, another Predators Film – an animated anthology called Predator: Killer of murderers – Will also debut this year. It will be available to stream at home from June 6th.
As for Alien Film, filmmaker Fede Alvarez gave us the franchise’s best rate since 1986’s Foreigners With last year Alien: Romulus. With a sequel to the big screen that is currently under development, the future also looks bright for Xenomorph and Facehugger-starring Sci-Fi Horror Film Series.
Okay but what has all this to do with the possibility of Badlands is actually one Avp film? The trailer Weyland-Yutani nods aside, Alvarez has previously outlined what he would like to see from a new Avp film.
When I spoke to Collider in February, the Argentine said, “The way I would do it [a new AvP film]Most likely if it could be done this way… is it harder to keep secrets online … the best Avp will be the one you don’t know is Avp Until the other guy shows up.
“You think you see one Predators Movies, and then they land somewhere and there are creatures, and f ***** g hell, it’s a xenomorph. That would get me. ‘F ** K YES!’ You would go crazy.

“Or, vice versa,” Alvarez continued. “You are in a Alien Movies, and then suddenly a mysterious being is there and you can hear that sound and you see the sheath and you go, ‘Is it of **** g predator?’ And it turns out to be. That would be the way to do that, don’t you think? Once you’ve put it in the title, it’s like ‘Spoiler Alert.’ “
When he was pressed by Collider about whether he had ever joined forces with Trachtenburg to make such a movie, Alvarez added: “I can’t speak for Dan. At one point when there is another one Alienand I know he is working on a successor to ExchangeOne day, if we feel like, ‘yes, that’s what we can’t wait to see, I think it’s a movie we could do. “
Is all that alvarez’s coded way of suggesting Badlands could be another Avp film? Probably not, but I live in the hope that I’m wrong!
