Miandads Kenguru Jump

Pakistan’s Javed Miandad always found a way to disturb his opponents with his batting or sled, and a fight against India at the 1992 World Cup was no different.

Excessive appealing by Indian wicketkeeper Kiran seemed to have annoyed Miandad during Pakistan’s Chase in Sydney.

The batter had a word and more that constantly chatting behind the stumps before he took care of a delivery.

Later, after completing a naughty race, Miandad jumped like a kenguru in an attempt to emulate the gloves of his appeals.

Commentators and fans saw the funny side, but not Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin, who looked visibly furious at Miandad’s Antique.

Prasad’s revenge

Opens Aamer Sohail controlled Pakistan’s hunting in the 1996 World Cup, when a moment of rash from the left -handed dough cost his team the game.

Hunting 289 for victory in Bengaluru, Sohail and colleague opener Saeed Anwar made the team run to 84 in 10 overs before Anwar traveled.

Sohail held the charge as he hit the Indian medium-Pacer Venkatesh Prasad for a border and sled the bowler with a finger pointed in the direction of the shot.

Prasad hit back, bowling Sohail next ball to a huge roar from the crowd and a broadcast movement from the bowler to derail Pakistan’s hunt.

Inzamam attacks fan

Pakistan’s usually cool Inzamam-Ul-Haq confronted the notorious an India fan in the stands at a 1997 match in Toronto, and the incident became a talking point in the coming years.

Inzamam stood at the border when an India supporter hecked the dough with song from “Aloo” (potato in Hindi) and referred to the cricketer’s voluminous frame.

As the calls got higher on a megaphone, Inzamam directed one of his players to bring a bat from the dressing room and were soon inside the stands to go after the heckler before security intervened.

Inzamam was reprimanded for the action and years later the songs said personal and violent.

Gambhir-afridi Merchant Abuse

India Batsman Gautam Gambhir – now their coach – beat Pakistan -Spinner Shahid Afridi to a border in a match in 2007, and words were exchanged before the two almost came to battle.

Gambhir and Afridi refused to settle back after some verbal flies, and the dough and the bowler collided – apparently intentionally – in between a race.

The two went on each other again with explosives that are clearly visible in dramatic TV images before the referee on the field intervened to extinguish the fire.

Gambhir and Afridi have maintained the rivalry, even after retiring and spoiling with ugly exchanges on social media on cricket and politics.

Akhtar triggers Harbhajan

Pakistan Speedster Shoaib Akhtar never supported down from a match, but in a duel with Harbhajan Singh at the Asia Cup 2010, the Indian spinner had the last laughter.

Akhtar bowled a dot ball to tacker Harbhajan in India’s hunt and threw a few sleds, but it only triggered the dough to hit one six to an India victory in the final over from Mohammad Amir.

Harbhajan celebrated wildly in front of Akhtar, who told him where to go.

Akhtar and Harbhajan recently reintroduced the moment on TV in a promotional video for Champions Trophy.
