Lahore:
Families displaced from the flooding areas of Zahir Pir near Liaquatpur are evacuated to the Manchan Dam on boats and ferries.
Punjab chief minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif received the affected families who went out of boats from boats during her visit to the area.
Chief Minister praised the efforts of Rescue 1122 teams and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) for the ongoing rescue and relief operations.
She ordered the relevant authorities to make mandatory use of life jackets and rings during all rescue and relief operations
She was informed of the evacuation. The flood has affected 35 villages on the outskirts of Liaquatpur, including Noorwala, Yellow Muhammad Langah, Dera Fareedi and Chohan.
The minister was informed that 84,721 residents and approx. 43 square kilometers of soil had been severely affected due to the ongoing floods.
Officials said that to support the flood victims were six emergency camps, several medical camps, three boat -based clinics and 12 clinics for wheels were created.
They added that 12,604 people and 488 livestock had been evacuated from the flooding hit suburbs of Zahir Pir during the ongoing rescue and relief operations.
In the flooded affected areas of Yellow Muhammad Langah, a total of 52 both with rescue and police joints had been deployed to facilitate the help effort.
On Punjab Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s instructions, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique Shujaabad reached early in the morning to visit Gardez Drain.
The senior minister underwent the flood situation in the area.

She said, “The nation greets those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the beloved homeland.” She added that the nation would never forget the victims of its brave martyrs. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also congratulated a Women Mountaineers’ team for scaling Barila Peak. She praised the courage and determination of the team, including its leader Bibi Afzon.
In a tragic incident in Basti Adam Wahan meanwhile, Minshi Wala, 14-year-old Abdul Rehman, drowned after slipping into standing flooding water in the fields.
Abdul Rehman was heading to the fields with his grandfather Mukhtar, son of Ghulam Hussain, and Uncle Aqeel, son of Mukhtar as he lost his foot and fell into the water. Rescue team reached the place and after a three -hour operation restored the body and handed it to the family.
The deprived family confirmed that the boy was slipping into the water, leading to his drowning. Despite the fact that section 144 is imposed by the district administration due to the flood situation, its enforcement remains weak and children are often seen bathing in flood water in different areas.
Meanwhile, several areas of Lodhran have been submerged after violations of protective dams. District Emergency Officer Engineer Shakeel Ahmad monitored rescue operations in the river areas today.
Rescue 1122 Hold Evacuated successfully over 1,000 stranded flood victims to safer places.
The teams also change livestock and households to safety. Currently, 160 Rescue is employed 1122 staff, supported by 24 boats, in flood operations throughout the district.
