District administration officials arrived quickly on stage when protesters demanded that their settlements be declared a model city and that they were compensated for market value along with alternative land for relocation.
A court has also noticed the situation, issued a residence order and required a report from the district administration. In response to the flood, Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema Rescue 1122 Holds to the affected areas to help residents and prevent further damage.
According to him, the authorities closely monitor the situation and a small controlled violation has been carried out to release water gradually over 24 hours, reducing the immediate threat of a major flood.
He assured the public that no human, animal or material loss would be allowed.
Dadhocha Dam, considered a crucial project to tackle Rawalpindi’s growing water crisis, has seen many years of delays.
Although construction was initially proposed in 2001, the construction only began in 2012 due to financing restrictions and bureaucratic obstacles.
