The father of Florida State Linebacker Ethan Pritchard offered ugly details of the shooting that left his son wounded after the team’s upset victory over Alabama.
The beginner footballer was shot at the back of his head while driving and stominating in a steady state of a hospital in Tallahasee, Florida, his father, Earl, Wftv told Florida on Wednesday.

“He was actually in the car and took my sister around the corner to her daughter’s house to drop her off,” Earl Pritchard told the station. “They turned the corner, and as soon as they turned the corner, they heard shots.”
The shooting took place while Ethan Pritchard drove his aunt from a family collection in Havana, Florida, according to ESPN. Officials reportedly still investigated the incident.
Pritchard played high school football at Seminole High School in Sanford, Florida, and was a four-star recruiter. He was rated as No. 437 in 247Sports Composite and No. 507 nationally in the on3 industry. ESPN ranked Pritchard as No. 39 Linebacker nationally and No. 64 player out of Florida.

As a senior, he helped lead seminole high school to a 10-2 record and its second consecutive regional final in 2024, registering 39 tackles and seven tackles for losses in nine games.
Like Junior, Pritchard had 75 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and a fumble improvement when Seminole High School went 10-3. He began his high school career as a security before switching to Linebacker as another.

Pritchard committed to Florida State in October 2023 and chose Seminoles over Miami, Florida and UCF among others.
