The Foreign Office (FO) rejected the recent comments of India’s Minister of External Affairs S Jaisankar in Brussels and described them as “irresponsible” and advised India to refrain from spinning misleading tales. The statement comes after Jaiskankar launched yet another verbal attack on Pakistan and called it ‘Terroristan’.

Jaisankar said you were talking at a joint press conference in Brussels on Tuesday, along with the European Union’s high representative of foreign affairs and security policy.

“This is actually a response to the threat and practice of terrorism. So I would encourage you to do it. Don’t think about it as India or Pakistan; think of it as India – Terroristan. You will then appreciate it,” he added.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, FO condemned the Rhetoric of the Indian minister and emphasized that the discourse of top diplomats should promote peace and harmony rather than produce “bellicose punchlines.”

“A Foreign Minister’s Tone and Tenor should be in line with his worthy status,” the spokesman said, emphasizing the importance of maintaining diplomatic decor in international relations.

The spokesman also pointed out India’s ongoing campaign to mislead the international community with a fabricated tale of victim.

“India’s continued Anti-Pakistan Diatribe cannot mask its sponsorship of terrorism beyond its borders or its state-sanctioned oppression in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK),” the statement reads.

Fo also called India to try to divert attention from his own commitment to terrorism, undermining and targeted murders, and urged the Indian government to reflect on its actions rather than pointing fingers at others.

It highlighted the frustration that was evident in India’s narrative, especially after its failed military operations against Pakistan last month. “The story comes from India betraying pure frustration after an unsuccessful military adventure against Pakistan,” the statement says.

Fo repeated his commitment to peaceful coexistence, dialogue and diplomacy, but emphasized his regular decision to defend his sovereignty.

“Pakistan is decisive in his intention and ability to protect his sovereignty from any aggression,” added it, pointing to Pakistan’s robust response to India’s recent strikes.

The statement ended by suggesting that Indian leaders are improving the quality of their diplomatic discourse. “The story will not judge who shouted the highest, but by whom the wisest was the wisest,” it said.
