- Inc Ransom recently added Ahold Delhaize to his data leakage
- The company confirmed to lose sensitive data in the attack
- The survey is still ongoing so users need to be on duty
Aold Delhaize, one of the world’s largest food store groups, has confirmed that they have lost sensitive data from his US business in a Cyberattack in November 2024.
The confirmation came after the threat actor who was responsible, Inc Ransom, added the company to its data cover site and shared examples of documents they claim was stolen in the attack.
“Based on our study to date, some files were taken from some of our internal US business systems,” a spokesman for Delhaize Delhaize told Bleeping computer. “Since the incident was discovered, our teams have worked extensively to determine what information may have been affected.”
During investigation
In early November 2024, Aold Delhaize revealed a cybersecurity event that forced it to close parts of its IT infrastructure.
“This question and subsequent mitigating actions have affected certain Aold Delhaize USAmarks and services, including a number of pharmacies and certain e-commerce operations,” the company said at the time.
The company said it was still investigating the incident and if it decides that customer data was taken, it would notify the persons concerned.
“If we decide that personal data was affected, we will notify the persons concerned as needed. In addition, we have notified and updated law enforcement,” added Aold Delhaize.
Until the study ends, we do not know how many (if any) customers are in danger, but it is worth mentioning that Ahold Delhaize is a Dutch-Belgian multinational retail and wholesale holding company that operates about 7,910 stores throughout Europe, the US and Indonesia and serves about 72 million customers weekly.
The company’s spokesman told the publication that all its stores and e-commerce services are open and operational and that customers should not face any problems as a result of the violation.
