Despite the government’s, government organizations and communities, 11,000 hectares of forest coverage every year is lost every year. Large threats to forests in Pakistan include deforestation, fires, climate change and transformation of forest areas into agriculture, commercial and housing schemes. This was led by the World Wide Fund for Nature-Pakistan (WWF-Pakistan). Furthermore, it said that protection of forests in Pakistan requires an approach that brings together government institutions, conservation organizations and communities. Pakistan is a forest -poor country with only five percent of the total area under forests. Most of the country falls under dry and semi -dry regions, so low rainfall deteriorates the growth of forests. In areas where forests are back, their wealth and health falls falling due to threats such as the rising population.
