- Two new AirTag competitors have been leaked
- The devices will reportedly come from Xiaomi and Motorola
- Both should support ultra-broadband technology
Find Hub, which Google developed to keep track of your devices, has improved a lot in recent years, and it looks like Android users will soon have a few new trackers to attach to belongings they don’t want to lose.
First, tipster Repeater 002 has taken to Chinese social media Weibo (via Notebookcheck ) to predict that we’ll soon be getting a Xiaomi Tag device, along with a new watch and new wireless earbuds from the company.
It would be the first time that Xiaomi has launched a location tracker like this, which is quite a surprise – the Chinese manufacturer makes almost every other type of wearable gadget, and of course some of the best Android phones on the market.
We don’t get much more information here, but the tracker is expected to support the superior and more accurate ultra-broadband technology and could arrive alongside the Xiaomi 17 Ultra phone on Friday, December 26.
A follow up to Moto Tag
Our second tracker leak is about a successor to the original Moto Tag: according to the folks at Android Headlines, who managed to get their hands on a marketing image of the Moto Tag 2, this updated device locator is now on its way.
Like the Xiaomi equivalent, it is likely to come with UWB support and beige and orange options will be available as per the leaked image. Improved precision and button tactility are expected, as well as an IP67 waterproof rating.
The Moto Tag 2 may also match the Xiaomi Tag at launch alongside a phone. This phone would be the rumored Motorola Moto G Stylus 2026, also showcased by Android Headlines and expected in April, May or June next year.
If you want to track your belongings through Google’s Find Hub, you should have some appealing new options to choose from in the next few months. Pricing is to be confirmed, but the Moto Tag retails for around $40 / £30 / AU$55.
