Former Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has decided to participate in Jamat Disadvantaged Disadvantages (JUI-F) and will formally announce her decision on February 22, Express News reported.
Former PTI leader met Jui-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and confirmed his decision to attend the party. His brother, Liaqat Khattak, was also present during the meeting.
The two leaders had extensive discussions before completing the move. Khattak is ready to make the official announcement during a press conference in Manki Sharif, Nowshera, with Rehman.
It should be noted that Khattak was the provincial president of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf in KP. He served as a KP chief minister during the PTI Office period from 2013 to 2018.
In June 2023, however, Khattak had announced his resignation from all the party’s positions in the wake of May 9 events following the arrest of party chairman Imran Khan.
Shortly thereafter, Khattak, close help to former Prime Minister Imran Khan, announced the formation of a new political party, ‘Pakistan Tehreek-in-In-Insaf parliamentarians’.
