The mysterious disappearance of former NFL player Sam Beal has entered its 7th month as the spotlight now focuses on the last person known to have a conversation with him.

According to reports from the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), which operates under the DOJ, Beal was last seen on July 12, 2025, after giving his girlfriend a ride home.
Beal had the car for a while that morning, he mentioned he was at work, but instead it drove toward Virginia Beach.
Her car was later discovered by one of her family members. Inside it, investigators found Beal’s shoes and socks lying on the front passenger floor along with sand, raising eyebrows about his last movements before he disappeared.
Authorities did not mention the identity of Beal’s girlfriend in official reports, but law enforcement officials have ruled out her involvement in any wrongdoing.
But all the limelight is on her as she was the last known person Beal came in contact with.
She allegedly received a phone call from him the following day, saying he was in Virginia Beach and hoped to return home.

On January 12, 2026, Beal’s sister Essence Zhane issued a public plea on social media, sharing information from the missing person’s report issued by NamUs and asking anyone with information that could lead to her brother’s discovery.
She wrote: “Tomorrow will be seven months since we last heard from or saw my brother.”
