Former NFL player, trains Dick Jauron death at 74

Dick Jaouron, the former head coach of two different NFL franchises, died on Saturday. He was 74.

Chicago Bears confirmed the death. Jaouron was Bears’ main coach from 1999 to 2003.

He was previously diagnosed with cancer, the daily item reported in Massachusetts.

He became Buffalo Bills ‘main coach in 2006, a role he maintained until 2009. The next season Jaouron was named Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive backs coach under Andy Reid.

Jauron was a two-sports star at Yale in the early 1970s, and he was drafted by both Detroit Lions in NFL Draft and St. Louis Cardinals in Major League Baseball Amateur Draft. In the end, he made football a lifelong persecution, starting with five seasons as a defensive back in Detroit and three more with Cincinnati Bengals before his pension in 1980.

The well-liked Jauron moved into coaching, and five years later, the bills were hired as a defensive backs coach. He continued to coach defensive backs in Green Bay and became friends with Reid, who was an assistant offensive line and tight ends coach.

Jaouron had only one winning record of five seasons with the bears and won NFC North in 2001, before losing to Eagles – then coached by Reid – in the divisional round in the playoffs.

He ended with a record of 60-82 and an endgame over parts of 10 seasons as the main coach.

Jaouron’s death came just two days after Bears announced the death of Virginia Halas McCaskey, who inherited the franchise from his father, George Halas, and spent four-Plus decades as the main owner.
