Former NFL -punter Chris Kluwe fired from high school coaching jobs after calling Maga a ‘Nazi Movement’

Former NFL -Punter Chris Kluwe said he was fired from his job as California High School football coach after a speech at a city council meeting in which he called Maga a “Nazi movement.”

“Just got fired from being a beginner football coach if you want to know what Maga is doing with the local communities,” Kluwe wrote on Bluesky on Thursday. “They don’t care what helps people because the school certainly won’t find an ex-NFL player who is willing to train there at this level, they are only interested in trying to hurt people.”

Kluwe later told CNN that the school fired him because the incident was “getting too much attention.”

Kluwe was arrested at a City Council in Huntington Beach last week as he protested at Huntington Beach’s decision to show a plaque in a public library. The plaque used the words magical, enticing, galvanizing and adventurous and their initials spelled maga.

Days later Kluwe appeared on CNN and he didn’t go back from his attitude.

“I think we’re on the road that Nazi Germany went down under Hitler,” he said. “And I say it as political science and story Major, as someone who has studied history. And the parallels are very, very clear.”

“This administration is trying to put obedience to the country. This administration tries to push our country into turmoil to reap power for themselves. And I believe regardless of political affiliation, all of us as Americans should be able to agree – no kings, no tyrants, not now, not ever,” Kluwe said.

Kluwe approached the election, and those who voted for President Donald Trump, where he claimed that “Hitler was also elected.”

“There were a lot of very good Germans who thought Hitler would have their best interests in mind. And I think there are a lot of good Americans who believe Trump has their best interests in mind. But I am very convinced that what this administration has shown – has already shown – that Trump does not have their best interests in mind.”

Right now no one is willing to step up and do it. So if I want to ask them to do it, I also have to be willing to do so.”

Kluwe also told TMZ that he would consider driving to the public office.

Kluwe went off the Minnesota Vikings from 2005-12.
