This comes from a recent interview with sacred symbols + (via VGC), where Yoshida said the company’s ongoing strategy to release multiple Xbox games for platforms such as PS5 and Nintendo Switch allows players to experience titles they did not have access to before.

He continued to say that PlayStation was the “minority platform” was his “nightmare” when he became head of the PlayStation first party. He explained that it “would be impossible to maintain first -party development because the best creators would leave.”

“If you look at the installation base on Xbox hardware, it’s a little natural to understand what they’re doing and it’s pretty straightforward,” Yoshida added.
The company’s multiplatform -push started early last year, which saw Hi-Fi Rush, The ocean of thieves, Pentiment and grounded Drive their way to PS5, where the latter two also get a Nintendo Switch release.
