Four Frontier Corps (FC) staff were martyrated and three others wounded in an improvised explosion device (IED) explosion in the Margate area on the outskirts of Quetta, police said Friday.
The wounded were transported to the combined military hospital (CMH) Quetta for treatment.
A heavy police presence was sent to the scene after the explosion while called to bomb board staff to secure the area and control for additional threats.
The martyred FC staff was identified as Subedar Shahzad Amin, Naib Subedar Abbas, Sepoy Khalil and Sepoy Zahid. The wounded include Lance Naik Zafar, Lines Naik Farooq and Sepoy Khurram Saleem.
Security forces were closed from the area and launched a search operation to find those responsible for the attack.
Pakistan was recently ranked second in Global Terrorism Index 2025, with the number of terror -related deaths increasing by 45% in the past year to 1,081.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned severely attacked and described it as a “cruel conspiracy” aimed at destabilizing the country. He expressed compassion for the families of the martyred staff and asked for the rapid improvement of the wounded.
“These brave sons of the earth have made the ultimate victim of peace in Balochistan. Their heroism and commitment will always be remembered with pride and gratitude,” the minister said.
