Four Indian sponsored terrorists killed in DI Khan IBO: ISPR

Four terrorists of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban group were neutralized in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan district, the military’s media wing said on Monday.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, security forces conducted the IBO based on the reported presence of terrorists belonging to the “Indian proxy”.

“During the execution of the operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij site and after an intense exchange of fire, four khwarij were sent to hell,” ISPR said.

It further stated that arms and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists who were actively involved in several terrorist activities in the area.

The ISPR said that disinfection operation was being carried out to eliminate any other “Indian-sponsored kharji” found in the area, adding that a relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” by security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue at full speed to wipe out the “menace of the foreign-sponsored terrorism”.

President Asif Ali Zardari hailed the security forces for their efforts.

“Eliminating khawarij operating under Indian backing during the operation and recovering weapons from them is a testament to the professionalism and determination of the forces. Operations against terrorist elements operating under Indian patronage are inevitable to protect national security.”

He said the foreign patrons of terrorists should remember that Pakistan will not only “send their farmers to hell” but will also reach their patrons themselves.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Pakistan’s security forces on the successful IBO.

In a statement, the Prime Minister said that the security forces achieved major successes against terrorism.

He added that the entire nation stood with the armed forces in the fight against terrorism.

“We are determined to completely eradicate terrorism from the country.”

Earlier today, three Federal Constabulary personnel were martyred after terrorists attacked a fort in KP’s Karak district, according to police.

KP has seen a rise in terrorist activities with two Pakistani security personnel, including Lt Col Shahzada Gul Faraz and Sepoy Karamat Shah, martyred on Saturday during an anti-terrorist operation in Bannu district.

A day after, two terrorists, including a detained commander, were killed when the outlaws attacked a Counter-Terrorism Department vehicle in an attempt to free their boss in Bannu district.
