PANJGUR:
Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district on December 26 on what the military described as the reported presence of militants it linked to an “Indian proxy group”, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.
According to the statement, security personnel engaged the site during the operation and a gunfight took place resulting in the killing of four suspected militants. The ISPR said arms, ammunition and explosives were recovered, adding that the persons were “involved in terrorist activities in the area”.

The military also stated that clean-up operations were underway nearby.
The operation, it said, forms part of the ongoing counter-terrorism operation under “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Supreme Committee for the National Action Plan.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the role of security personnel involved in the Panjgur operation and expressed support for continued efforts against what he called militant networks and their facilitators. Naqvi said the government and security agencies would continue such efforts along with public support.
