DG KHAN:
The Punjab police conducted a major surgery against operators of banned TTP in DG Khan on Sunday and killed four alleged terrorists.
According to a declaration, police received a intelligence on the movement of terrorists at Daulat Wala Mother, located in Kot Mubarak, a border area between Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The terrorists were allegedly created illegal control points in the area.
Later, the Punjab police and its elite strength moved in quickly, while the border commander, Asad Khan Chandia, sealed entry routes to the tribal area.
Police later surrounded the terrorists and launched an operation where the intense exchange of fire took place. The TTP operates, heavily armed, attacked the police team, but the Punjab police responded “with timely and effective action and foiled their dishonest plans”.
In the operation, four TTP men were killed while several others were injured.
According to the Punjab Police spokesman, the remaining terrorists used the front of darkness, shrubs and dunes to escape the stage. Police recovered weapons and explosives from possession of the deceased terrorists. A search and sweeping operation is ongoing in the area after the meeting.
President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the law enforcement authorities to “remove four Khawarij during an operation in DG Khan”.
