If you’ve ever wanted to have your Solana design book on your wrist while bending your wealth, Swiss watchmaker Franck Muller makes it a reality.
The watch market enters the web3 ecosystem with a Solana-inspired, limited version of watches containing a embedded unique QR code to directly link to the user’s Solana address.
The company’s Solana-inspired watch collection is limited to 1,111 units that put buyers back 20,000 Swiss francs (about $ 24,300).
While watches have a unique design that can appeal to Solana Ecosystem participants, their launch comes at a time when unfortunately flaunting crypto-related wealth becomes risky.
The Cryptocurrency industry has seen dozens of physical attacks just this year when a remarkable case sees the daughter and grandson of Pierre Noizat, CEO of Crypto Platform Paymium, which is targeted in a daily attempt at kidnapping. The attack was filmed and shared on social media.
While this kidnapping trial failed, one earlier in the same city of father of a crypto millionaire saw abducted. Police managed to save the man, but not until his finger was cut off.
Earlier this year, co -founder of Hardware Wallet Maker Ledger, David Balland with his wife, was abducted from his home and saw similar treatment. The couple was later rescued by the authorities and a ransom that had been paid was seized.
There have been many other similar attacks in recent months.
Franck Muller throws the collection as a “phygital” (physically-digital) symbol of identity and ownership of the crypto age. While the clock is definitely a piece of cryptomytos, it may be a collecting object that investors may not want to show off.
