Frankie Muniz is considering a return to racing

Frankie Muniz to race again in 2026

Frankie Muniz isn’t slowing down just yet.

The longtime actor, now 40, is preparing for a busy 2026 as he continues to chase his racing dreams full force.

Muniz returns for his second full season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Team Reaume driving a Ford F-150.

On top of that, he is expanding into sports car racing driving for TechSport Racing, taking the wheel of a Ford Mustang GT4 in the GT4 America season.

He will be joined by co-driver Tyler Stone.

Racing has been part of Muniz’s life for two decades, beginning his journey in 2004 before turning professional in 2006.

He joined Reaume as a full-time NASCAR driver in 2025 with the No. 33 truck, and now he’s doubling down on the challenge.

Talking with PEOPLEhe admitted that the coming year will be filled with 25 NASCAR races, seven GT4 America races and even the debut of the four-episode revival Malcolm in the middle: Life is still unfair.

He called the schedule “pretty intense,” but the excitement clearly outweighs the exhaustion.

He revealed he thought he could have crossed the finish line for good last season.

“To be 100% honest, I really thought last year would be my last year racing,” Muniz said.

He explained how his last race in Phoenix made him wonder if it was the end of his NASCAR journey until the moment pushed him to realize otherwise.

“And it was really at that moment that I thought, ‘No way.’ I’m not done with this. The story is not finished. I haven’t achieved the goals I want to achieve in it,” he shared.

“There are still many unfinished cases.”

Muniz also reflected on how rare and special this opportunity is for him at 40 years old.

Racing at the highest level is demanding and he knows not many get this shot. He said he feels lucky and grateful to be “one of maybe 100 people on the entire planet” with a NASCAR racing license.

With more ambitions left to burn and big goals ahead, Muniz keeps his foot firmly on the accelerator and proves that passion doesn’t come with an age limit.
